Find Brutus & Eulalie de Villeroi

Have you seen these people? Do you know who they are? Probably not, since these old daguerreotypes have been locked away in a family album in New England for over a century and a half and never published.  They are also not Brutus and Eulalie de Villeroi, but just two of the thousands of unidentified images that survive from the mid-nineteenth century. But the de Villerois may well be among that number--quite possibly in Philadelphia. Can we find and identify them? And is there a photograph of Alligator lurking out there as well?

This is a call to action from any who would be Friends of Alligator: scour your attic and family heirlooms and visit the antique shops and flea markets! Donors of any proven photo of the de Villerois or of their submarine will earn the right to all the benefits of the Alligator First Mate Circle.
